After dominating the Philadelphia Eagles in a not as close as it seems 31 to 15 Wild Card matchup, the Buccaneers (14 – 4) will host the Los Angeles Rams (13 – 5) at 3:00 PM EST on Sunday, January 23 at Raymond James Stadium. It’s important to note that Tampa Bay has only lost once at home this season and although they lost a Week 3 matchup in Los Angeles to the Rams, Tom Brady is known for stepping up come playoff time.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is likely to succumb to the playoff pressure as he sees Tom Brady on the other side of the field, and Bruce Arians’ Bucs will have every reason to believe that they can advance to the Conference Championship round.

The NFC has been far superior at the top of their respective standings compared to the AFC, so it’s fair to assume that if the Buccaneers and Packers both win their Divisional round matchups, that whomever comes out on top in the Conference Championship will be favored against any of the remaining AFC contenders, with a pick-em being likely as well.

If America gets what they want, and the Buccaneers get a Conference Championship rematch against the Packers, then we will be in for a treat. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are the two most likely contenders for the NFL MVP, and two of the most respected leaders in the game. Brady is 3 – 1 against his rival head to head and if this matchup takes place, history is on his side.

It is nearly impossible to say with certainty whether Tom Brady will be able to win the Super Bowl this year based on all of the potential matchup scenarios that may take place. Similarly, there are some badass team left, and his teammates on the other side of the field will have their work cut out for them as well. But based on the most likely path to a Super Bowl appearance, and his historical record against Rodgers, not to mention his extra motivation for proving he deserves MVP, the legendary quarterback has a damn good chance of earning an eighth title.
