The New Orleans Pelicans will travel to Northern California to face the Sacramento Kings for the second time this season. The Pelicans crushed Sacramento 136-104 in their first matchup.
The 31-33 Pelicans have fallen off and are in tenth place in the Western Conference. However, the playoff race is tight, and they can still move up if they start stringing together some wins.
On the other side, the 37-25 Kings are in third place in the Western Conference. If they win today, they will be within striking distance of the second-place Memphis Grizzlies.

The Pelicans are coming off a 108-99 loss to the Golden State Warriors. New Orleans had a 35-21 lead at the end of the first quarter, but their lead was cut to three at the half.
Golden State kept chipping away at the Pelicans and ended up winning by nine. C.J. McCollum led the Pelicans with 25 points, and Brandon Ingram and Trey Murphy III also had 17 and 15 points, respectively.
The Pelicans shot pretty well in this game and made 44.2% of their shots, but they were outshot by the Warriors (who made 51.3% of their shots).
The Kings are currently playing the Minnesota Timberwolves and coming off a 128-127 win against the Los Angeles Clippers (their fifth win in a row). The game was back and forth and came down to the wire.
Sacramento took a one-point lead with less than 20 seconds, and the Clippers could not overcome that. De’Aaron Fox led all scorers with 33 points, and Domantas Sabonis had 23 points on 10-13 shooting.
The Pelicans have struggled mightily since Zion Williamson went down with injury, and it has only gotten worse as more players have gotten the injury bug. In addition to Williamson, New Orleans will be without Larry Nance Jr., Jose Alvarado, Josh Richardson, and possibly Jonas Valancunias.
They will not stand a chance against this healthy and surging Kings team. In addition, New Orleans is playing on the road, where they struggle even more. They have lost four of their last five away from the Smoothie King Cent and will also lose this one. Bet on the Kings.
My Prediction: Kings 129, Pelicans 114
