Following the conclusion of the 2023 NFL Draft, sportsbooks have odds already posted for the first overall pick in the 2024 draft and Caleb Williams should be all that anyone is talking about. He is a massive -550 favorite to get drafted first overall and the only player with odds under 500.
Williams should be the unanimous number one pick after the way he played in 2022-23 having showed out for 4,537 passing yards, 42 touchdowns, just 5 interceptions, and an 87.6 QB rating.
All of which ranked top five in the nation amongst quarterbacks. He is a generational talent and any team should see this and know that they can build around him with ease.
Odds Comparison
He doesn’t have much competition for the top pick either with just Drake Maye following him with 600 odds and the only other player with odds under 1000. What really separates Williams from Maye though is the strength of the competition that they both go up against.
Williams and USC are a part of a stacked PAC-12 conference with games against UCLA and Utah and out of conference games with Notre Dame. All of which are top 20 teams in the country.
Maye, on the other hand, will go up against just Clemson who is currently tumbling in preseason polls, and a rising, but not yet proven Florida State team.

Other reasons behind Williams being an extreme favorite is that he is the preseason favorite to win the Heisman for a second straight season with 400 odds and is the only player with under 1000 odds to win the award.
He is also expected to lead USC to another promising season and could even make the college football playoffs as they have the fifth shortest odds to win the National Championship at 1200 odds.
