Starting with the reigning NBA Champions, Denver Nuggets, they opened the season as the favorites at 500 and have remained in that top spot only this time at 450.

They have been able to retain the majority of their roster thus far with the exception of Bruce Brown who signed with the Indiana Pacers. Other than that, they are expected to run things back with what they have and make a strong bet.

The Boston Celtics also saw their odds get shorter since opening after they started off the free agency period with a bang. They saw their opening odds come in at 550 and now sit at 500.

This comes after they traded Marcus Smart as a part of a three-team deal with the Washington Wizards that landed them Kristaps Porzingis.

The move makes their lineup much bigger as Jaylen Brown moved to the shooting guard spot and Jayson Tatum goes to the small forward.

NBA 2023-24 – Finals Winner
Suns +600
Celtics +500
Heat +900
Lakers +1200
Nuggets +450

Arguably the biggest move of the free agency period to this point, the Phoenix Suns landed Bradley Beal in a trade with the Washington Wizards as well. This now gives them a starting lineup of Devin Booker Beal, Kevin Durant, and Deandre Ayton.

Other than Beal though, they’ve been adding role players to surround them such as Eric Gordan, Keita Bates-Diop, and Yuta Watanabe. They’ve seen a major drop in their odds going from 850 to 600.

The Miami Heat have been the hottest name in the offseason despite not making any significant moves just yet. That is because Damian Lillard has requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers with only the Heat listed as his proffered team.

The oddsmakers are taking into account that Lillard only wants to play for Miami and has shifted their odds from 2000 way down to 900.

Finally, the Los Angeles Lakers have seen their odds drop from 1300 slightly down to 1200. The Lakers have been on fire with signing quality role players including Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Jaxson Hayes, and Cam Reddish.
