Caleb Williams, Quarterback, USC
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner continues to run through the weak USC schedule so far. Unfortunately, he hasn’t needed to be a superhero in a game that matters just yet. Week 2 saw the Trojans demolish Stanford, 56-10, with Williams completing 19 of 21 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns with another score on the ground.
However, he has been the best player in America so far. The schedule gets tougher in the next couple of weeks, with games against Colorado, Notre Dame, and Utah. He could officially separate themselves.
Jordan Travis, Quarterback, Florida State
Florida State played a brutal Southern Miss team in week 2, and Jordan Travis wasn’t needed to be the dominant force that he was in week one. He was able to toss for two touchdowns and 175 yards in a 66-13 routing of Southern Miss. He will have an opportunity in the ACC to put up massive numbers.
Michael Penix Jr, Quarterback, Washington
Penix is holding off a hard charge from Texas Quinn Ewers. Penix hasn’t had the showcase game that Texas had against Alabama yet, but he will soon as the Pac-12 has 8 teams in the top 25. He is tossing for 400 a game so far and doesn’t look to be slowing down.

Quinn Ewers, Quarterback, Texas
The highest-rated QB recruit in the history of the recruiting platforms has finally lived up to the hype. Quinn Ewers had the opportunity to take center stage and he did just that. Texas went in to Alabama and put the college football world on notice. Ewers threw for 349 yards and three touchdowns, as well as a few jaw dropping throws. He should continue to rise.

Shedeur Sanders, Quarterback, Colorado
The Colorado Buffalos started slow this week against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Then the second half started and the Buffs and Sanders showed their offensive power again. He is averaging 451.5 yards and has 7 touchdowns so far this season. They are getting another nationally televised opportunity this week with an ESPN game against Colorado State.
